Zach brings two decades of elevated hospitality management experience to Black Cat. In addition to directing all operations at Black Cat, he is a classically-trained sommelier and wine educator, having run beverage programs and consulted for many clients and destinations in the bay area, from high-volume spots to Michelin-awarded destinations. After studying Economics, he devoted his studies to wine and spirits, acquiring numerous accreditations, including the distinguished Diploma in Wine & Sprits from the London-based Wine & Spirits Education Trust, the rigorous Certified Wine Educator credential from the Society of Wine Educators, and the French Wine Scholar certification from the Wine Scholar Guild.
His extensive travels throughout the globe have included stops in nearly thirty countries and throughout the world of wine, including an extended six-month sojourn in France and Italy.
When not running the show at Black Cat or leading classes and tastings for fellow wine aficionados, he prefers to be drinking cheep beer in exotic places.
