Irwin and Jackie met by chance at Black Cat in 2018, but it was almost as if it were meant to be. Since then, they’ve returned several times and every time they’re together, it’s magic.

Irwin Hall is an award-winning, internationally renowned Brooklyn-based musician. He is a master of the flute, clarinet, and especially his first love, the saxophone. He attended Princeton University on a full ride to study East Asian foreign relations. He learned Japanese and after graduating moved to Tokyo, Japan to work as a research assistant to the Editor-In-Chief at a major Japanese newspaper. But he was unable to resist his calling, and soon returned to the siren that is jazz. Hall has toured and preformed with Dee Dee Bridgewater, Melody Gardot, John Legend, Charnett Moffett, and countless more. He has played in cities around the world including London, Tokyo, Prague, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, Pori, Shanghai, and Melbourne and continues to perform and lead his own band.

A velvet voice, rich as smooth wine… Jackie Gage is a musical storyteller. Her music is emotional, joyous, heart-wrenching, and celebratory. Jackie Gage is well-known to the Bay Area scene. Since her start in San Jose performing at local jams and curating shows, she’s expanded her musical reach with her recent relocation to New York. “…a mixture of the new jazz singer, with old-school style and a sound building on Esperanza Spalding and Gretchen Parlato” is what the San Jose Mercury News had to say about this Neo soul songstress.

Jackie has opened for the likes of Tony Toni Toné, Darlene Love, and Eric Benét. Her 2016 debut album “Siren Songs” was released at a sold-out concert at Yoshi’s Oakland, and garnered praise from the likes of AFROPUNK and All About Jazz. She currently performs with East Coast bandleaders Marc Cary and Winard Harper, and has played at The Mint and Blue Whale in Los Angeles, BB King’s in New York, Yoshi’s Oakland, Minton’s in Harlem, DC’s Howard Theatre, Philadelphia’s South Kitchen, and festivals including the Fillmore Jazz Festival, and San Jose Jazz Summer Fest. Jackie was also a 2014 Jazz Search West finalist.
